How often should I review a PUWER assessment?

According the PUWER Acop L22, a PUWER inspection should be performed:

-
After installation and before being used for the first time.
-
After assembly at a new location / site
-
At suitable intervals (this depends on the machine, the assessor will advise, generally 3-5 yearly is acceptable)
-
After being exposed to conditions which may jeopardise the safety of the equipment (e.g. after a flood and the equipment gets wet (when it shouldn’t), or following a FLT collision with the equipment.
-
Following an accident on the machine / equipment.

The frequency really does depend on the equipment and the conditions its being operated in, for example an external conveyor belt on a dusty aggregates site may need to be reviewed 2 or 3 yearly, but a conveyor indoors, in lab conditions, may receive a review frequency of 5-7 years.
